Meet the International Youth & Young Adult Staff

Our dynamic staff resides all over the world. Each position is aligned with natural knowledge, skills, and abilities and appointed by the Director.

Dr. Janie Moore

Dr. Janie Moore

Director

Hi there! I’m Dr. Janie Moore, an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University and a member of Chosen Generation, CLGI, in Texas. As the wife of our pastor, Eld. Derrick Moore, and proud mother of Thee Josiah Moore, I am dedicated to serving my family and community.

I earned my Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Purdue University and have since been committed to using my knowledge and skills to help others. In fact, I initiated the first CLGI Campus Bible Study at North Carolina A&T State University and then developed the CLGI Campus Ministry Manual as a framework for bible studies nationwide.

My passion lies in guiding young people to develop a strong relationship with Christ and navigate life’s challenges. I believe that by providing a solid foundation of faith, we can equip our youth with the tools they need to thrive in the future. Whether in the classroom or within my community, I am committed to positively impacting the lives of those around me.

Elder Lindsay Birt

Academic Excellence Director

Hello, I am Elder Lindsay Birt, Ph.D., and I have been a CLGI member for over 15 years. My experience within CLGI includes preaching, teaching, missionary and outreach, evangelism, and operating in the Gifts of the Spirit.

For over nine years, I served as Pastor of Eternal Spirit Worship Center, CLGI (Lombard, IL), and for over 12 years, I have been teaching a local bible study. I am serving as District Missionary Representative for the Great Lakes District in the First Jurisdiction CLGI.

I received my Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering from Purdue University in 2012. During my time at Purdue, I met Min. Janie Moore, Ph.D., and began attending the CLGI Campus Bible Study. Eventually, I joined The New Jerusalem CLGI in Lafayette, IN, under the leadership of the late Elder Kim Montgomery and Assistant Pastor Jacqueline Terrell, where I was filled with the Holy Spirit.

I completed my B.S. and M.S. at Texas A&M University in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. I also hold certificates in Business Strategy from the University of Virginia and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Business from the University of South Florida. In 2021, I was honored to receive the Rising One Water Leader award from the U.S. Water Alliance.

In addition to my passion for ministry and engineering, I enjoy traveling, playing golf, visiting museums, and making cupcakes. One of my favorite scriptures is Romans 5: 1-5.

I am excited to work with IYYAD to help grow the number of both academically and spiritually successful youth and young adults. Through education and ministry, I believe we can empower the next generation to impact the world positively.

Our Vision

Dr. Moore’s vision for the International Youth & Young Adult Department is to develop today’s youth through the values of service and foster leadership in churches in every community.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16 KJV

Our Goals

  • Inspire youth to let their light shine through good works and glorify God.
  • To empower young adults to embrace their identity in Christ, navigate the natural and the spiritual, integrate spiritual values with essential life skills, and grow as leaders.
  • To increase youth representation across thriving South America, Europe, and African jurisdictions.
  • To assist other departments, including Missions, Brotherhood, and Elect Ladies.

Throughout the conference, attendees can connect with other young people worldwide, participate in inspiring worship services, and hear from dynamic speakers who will challenge them to grow in their faith.

In addition to the spiritual elements of the conference, we also schedule time for a fun outing for one evening. This is an excellent opportunity to let loose and enjoy time with like-minded individuals.

And for those who have completed their academic studies, we also offer the Graduation Ceremony. This is a particular time when we honor and celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates and send them off into the world with our prayers and blessings.
