Christian Education

Study to Shew Thyself Approved Unto God

1 Cor 10:12, 2 Tim 2:15, 19-21 (KJV)

Christian Education Outline

  • The Reason Why We Are Still On This Lesson
    • We have a lot of preachers that this lesson is applying to. (II Tim 2:20)
    • We have both male & female preachers. (Gal 3:28)
    • We have more female preachers in the church today.
  • Evil Spirits Oppose People Attending Sunday Christian Education in the Church
    • They bring feelings, thoughts, and subtle suggestions to our minds.
    • These thoughts & feelings suggest that you don’t need Christian Education
    • These evil spirits tell you that you don’t need to come to Christian Ed because the lesson does not pertain to you.
    • Evil spirits bring condemnation.
    • The evil spirits know how to work on you because they watch you all the time.
    • When tempted, the weak obey the evil spirits. (Rom 6:16)
    • The weak say that they are not the only one who does not come to Christian Ed.
    • When the strong believer is tempted, they will shake themselves, a scripture will come to mind, and they will make it to Christian Ed.
  • It Is Not Good For Any Weak Vessel or Member In The Church To Know Who is Wrong
    • When they find out who is wrong and what sin they did, they end up doing the same thing.
    • You don’t need to know all the sins that someone committed.
    • If you are not strong in the Lord, you will fall.
    • If you are struggling right now, it may be because you know too many people who are wrong.
    • Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. (I Cor 10:12)
    • In other words, you can’t handle that. You are just going to have to pray.
    • Ask the Lord to keep you.
    • Only the strong can bear the infirmities of the weak. (Rom 15:1)
  • What Do You Do If You See or Hear About People Falling Into Sin?
    • You better fast tomorrow because that temptation will come to you.
    • When you see them playing church, purge yourself from them. (II Tim 2:21)
    • If anyone comes to you to gossip, tell them that you don’t need to hear that.
  • The Vessels of Dishonor
    • They are slick in playing church and worked their way into the church.
    • They worked their way into all titles of the church (Lay member to Bishop).
    • They worked their way into all the departments of the church.
    • They become faultfinders, finding fault with everything in the church.
    • They start preaching things not in the bible or in the church.
    • They become chief murmurers because they have position.
    • They become unhappy with everything and say we need to do this & that.
    • They stop believing that there is a judgment day.
    • Their sins don’t condemn them anymore. (I Tim 4:2)
    • They have gotten so interwoven in the church that you can’t (Matt 13:25-30) separate them from the church.
    • You have to purge yourself from them. (II Tim 2:21)
    • When the trumpet sounds, we will know who is right and who is wrong. (I Thess 4:13-18)
  • Whooping Preachers
    • They come in a big way and turn the mic up and everyone screams & hollers.
    • They may be living in sin as some of the worst sinners makes the church happy.
    • It looks like they got it going, but it’s a show.
    • We have gotten accustomed to it and go along with it.
    • They are playing church.
    • What is playing church? When you put on this big show, go home & live in sin.
  • What Is The Big Show?
    • The preacher gets up, runs up & down the aisle.
    • Everyone gets happy.
    • The music is turned up.
    • The drummer beats on the drums so loud you almost go deaf.
    • The musicians play the music at 1,000 MPH.
    • Some churches are trying to break that up because that is their style.
    • God said, what have I here? In other words, what is this? (Isa 52:5)
  • Study The Word of God So The Spirit Will Confirm The Words You Say
    • Paul told Timothy to study to shew thyself approved unto God. (II Tim 2:15)
    • This was so Timothy can continue to operate in the gifts of the Spirit.
    • When the Spirit confirms the word you say, that is confirmation that the Holy Spirit agrees with what you are saying.
    • Some ascribe for the Spirit to confirm the word rather than the big show.
    • Paul said, we have a ministry of power. (I Cor 2:4)
    • Paul said, my speech and preaching was not with enticing of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.
    • Nowadays we say power is loud music, whooping and hollering.
  • Paul Told Timothy To Stir Up The Gift of God
    • This was needful because Paul’s departure was at hand. (II Tim 4:6)
    • Paul told Timothy that Timothy could stir up the gift because, he had (II Tim 1:6) the gifts of the Spirit.
    • Timothy operated in the power gifts (faith, healing, & miracles). (I Cor 12:9-10)
    • Gifts of the Spirit comes from knowledge of the word of God when you come to Christian Education.
    • God really wants to give you these gifts of the Spirit.
    • The vocal gifts (prophecy, divers tongues, interpretation of tongues) (I Cor 12:10) can be operated by the general church. (I Cor 14)
    • Operating in the office of a prophet is a higher calling than prophesying (I Cor 14) in the church service. Others will need to judge those who prophesy in service.
  • The Intro to Preaching Course is Necessary
    • It teaches you how to lay out your subject, lesson text, and pericope.
    • It is an organized way of preaching that will teach you how to celebrate.
    • It teaches you the mechanics of how to study and prepare your sermon or teaching.
    • You need the anointing along with that, so the Holy Ghost can confirm the word you preach and teach.
    • We need God to confirm the word.
