Microsoft Office 365 is a software suite designed to help meet an organization’s need for unified and streamlined electronic communication and collaboration. Therefore, it has been selected as the official communication platform for conducting official CLGI business. Office 365 provides robust security, reliability, and continuous user productivity. It will be utilized as the official means for sending emails pertaining to CLGI business such as dissemination of prayer requests, distribution of memorandums, meeting notifications and other official communications. Office 365 will also be used as part of our records retention process to electronically store official church files and documents.

In addition to unified communication and collaboration, CLGI will benefit from the robust security, reliability, and continuous user productivity provided by Microsoft. This platform is used in many businesses today and is known for its user-friendly and collaborative features providing the latest industry-leading software and services.

Effective June 1, 2018, CLGI, Inc. is providing Microsoft Office 365 accounts free of charge to CLGI members.

Users will receive a Microsoft Office 365 account that comes with an official clgi.org email address (firstname.lastname@clgi.org). The email address provides ease of communication and eliminates bounced back emails due to standardized email addresses. The platform also simplifies email groups (creation and group management) since all email addresses consist of members names.

Office 365 also provides members access to various software applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Calendars, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and so much more. The secure and easy to use software can be used on almost any computer, tablet, phone or web browser and will be used for all official CLGI communication and content. The suite also comes with one terabyte of online storage via Microsoft OneDrive.

As an international organization, these changes will allow us to be on one accord in conducting church business while saving time and will provide the ability to collaborate and communicate in real-time.

If you have not signed up for an Office 365 Account, please request an account. If you already have an account and have not used it or don’t remember your password, please request a password reset. Once you have taken this action, training documents will be emailed so you can become familiar with the contents and how to use Office 365.

To further assist us in the transition to our new communication platform, several two-hour sessions of Office 365 training will be offered at the 2018 General Assembly to familiarize members with its benefits and usage capabilities. If you would like to sign up for a session, please select the option in the General Assembly registration. Even if you have already registered for the General Assembly, you can modify your registration to sign up for the class. We wish to encourage all CLGI leadership and all CLGI members to take advantage of this training opportunity.
